(Class Project: Dav Pilkey)
Dear self,
Before you were a mom there were a lot of circumstances you said you would never commit or omit upon motherhood. For example, you said you would never allow your child to take a bottle after they turned one. When in fact, baby C was actually 23 months old when you finally finally took the night time bottle away.
You said you would never let your baby sleep with you and your husband. However, it would shock you to know that she does not move out of your bed until she turned five. Before you were a mom, you said you would never have your child in day care. Turns out, she started day care when she was 9 weeks old. Doctors said she would survive and build her immune, but you went to work with a broken heart every day.
Before you were a mom, you said you would read to your child every single night. Would you believe, that by the time you get home, cook supper, clean the kitchen, go over homework, study, and give her a bath that it is time for bed and you are both too tired to read? You declared that you would not be one of those "overprotective" mothers. However, the teacher told you this year that she can spot only children a mile away. I think this means that you are a wee bit on the "protective" side. Okay you are way overprotective. It is true.
Finally, before you were a mom your mind wandered into the school years and you swore you would never turn in to Momzilla. Turns out that when projects are assigned, you somewhat take over and her school project becomes your new weekend hobby. Typical Momzilla style.
Moral of the story: Never say Never

I am right there with you and EK is only almost 2! I can only imagine the things I will do that I said "I would NEVER" do, haha! :)
