STAR STRUCK!!

I received a group text from a friend of ours who said Oprah was in our town.

In fact, she was at our very own little airport. 

In her very big jet. 

I asked husband to take me to the town jail where she was doing a local interview. 

She was no where to be found. 

I asked husband to take me to all of the surrounding restaurants as she might be out to eat. 

He refused. 

In fact, he said, "We are not going to stalk Oprah!"

I asked husband to take me to the airport. 

He complained but took me anyway. 

There were only a few others who had word that Oprah was in our town

and so we all waited with eager and excitement to see the world's most powerful woman with our very own eyes. 

We waited.

My bff, Amy, arrived with her husband and their daughter too. 

We laughed. 

The men decided they wanted to go back home. 

The girls stayed and waited for Lady O

The jet was full of her staff all dressed to perfection. 

The night fell and darkness came upon us. 

We waited. 

We laughed and talked to the other bystanders. 

It rained.

We waited. 

Our tiny little airport locked us out-rude!

It's not what you know apparently it's who you know

because some people were waiting inside. 

We were locked out and on the outside of the fence. 

We waited. 

Three black cars came rolling around the corner.
I jumped up and down like it was no body's business screaming She's here! She's here!
A--gggggg---hhhhhhhh!!!!!! Oprah WE LOVE YOU
I screamed like it was 1996 and I was on the sidelines cheering for our high school football team.
People. Maybe you should know that I have a good set of lungs!
The seven of us on the outside of the fence all screamed...
She stepped out of her SUV and into the entourage who surrounded her.
She pointed ever so gracefully to the inside airport crowd who had one by one stepped out of the airport like a tiger in the grass.
We screamed even louder!!!
Oprah!! Oprah!! OPRAH!!!!!!!!
AGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH
WE LOVE YOU
She took pictures and shook hands with those dirty dog insiders
We shook our heads in dismay.
There was no way Oprah Winfrey was going to walk across the wet grass to come and meet the seven us hanging on the outside of the fence.

She turned and pointed our way.
We SCREAMED even louder!!!!!!!
She gracefully walked across the wet grass and let me tell you she was amazingly beautiful!!!
She smiled from ear to ear, shaking her head and with her right hand pledged to her heart.
She made her way to us and stuck her hands right through the galvanized gate to make efforts to shake each and every one of our hands.
We were trembling with excitement!!!
We screamed!!!!
She smiled, took her time and spoke to each of us one by one.
She touched us all- but mostly touched our hearts.
She was ever so humbled and so gracious.
SHE thanked us for being there!
Thank goodness Amy and I had two cameras because apparently I have not mastered screaming, shaking hands with Oprah, trembling, and taking pictures with my phone all at one time.
Oprah walked back to her jet and mastered the stairs one by one.
At the top of the staircase she turned and waved like the superstar that she is.
This woman is beautiful inside and out!!
Within minutes they were all loaded and she disappeared into the clouds.
I have a new girl crush y'all.....
Oprah- I love ya lady!
