Apparently, all I can imagine to do these days is pick one night a week to stay up in to the wee hours of the night to blog about what we did over the weekend. I do not see how it is possible to maintain a daily blog. Especially if you have a child to follow after. We again had another busy weekend but full of great memories. We had lots of visiting to do. Friday- we went to Bert's office to swing him by some lunch and ate in the kitchen which Carley thinks is the absolute best thing in the world. She loves to visit daddy at work and to eat lunch at work was just the icing on the cake for her. Then, we went out to see the new addition to the Summer's family and to take lunch to the new mamma-Lauren and big brother Hunter. We finally were able to meet Avary Reese Summers- she was a mere two weeks old. Our visit with the Summers family always turns in to a day's adventure rather than any small time chat. We rode the gator through the country, fed the fish in the pond, visited with the ducks (we were with Hunter when he got his baby duck at Easter so we went to see what a beautiful adult duck he/she turned in to... wow!!), the kids jumped on the trampoline, rode bicycles, and we held, fed, and rocked baby Avary. Did I mention we missed our nap (oh how I look forward to those) but it was well worth it. Saturday Carley woke me up EARLY- whispering, "Momma, get up.... remember we were going to go to the flea market? This child loves a flea market- yard sale- or any reason to shop (and I can't pass up bargain shopping).. she wanted to take Marley to show off which of course I ended up carrying all around in the blazing heat- along with a lemonade, my pocket book, and french fries. OH sorry- I mean we did NOT have french fries (with malt vinegar) for breakfast.... it was hashbrowns.... yeah that's right, hashbrowns!! We did pick up YaYa (my mom) on the way to the flea market (since she IS the one who introduced Carley (and I) to flea markets)- and she offered extra hands for help. Yeay for moms (GRANDmoms)!!!! Then we headed home for some fresh showers and up the road for the Twins big birthday bash. Addison and Mason turned TWO. Jennifer and Geoff hosted an Elmo and Abby birthday party for friends and family and turned the back yard in to a water play house for all the kids. It was WONDERFUL to see how much the babies have grown and well I suppose I have to confront the fact that they are not actually babies any longer. They have outgrown that status!! I hate that I let two years go by without seeing them on such a regular basis. I do love though that we are able to attend the special occasions- and thank heavens for technology (i.e. cell phones, email, and computers). You know, I don't think Jennifer and I ever missed an episode of Friends when we lived together in college and now we live out our own IRL (in real life) episodes. note- did you catch my blog lurking lingo- kudos to you if so. Oh Happy Day- Mason and Addi. Carley and I completely enjoyed the fun time that we were able to share with you. Friendship: Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: 10 If one falls down, his friend can help him up. Next, I will try to post a sneak peek of why I am so exhausted and what Carley has been working so hard on - when this weekend is over- we will not know what to do with ourselves. OH- and I have a special blog project idea in the making. I will clue you in to be on the lookout. I am infatuated with churches. Just their being, their make, and pure existence - their beauty draws me in. So, I thought I would TRY to do a weekly post with a new favorite picture of a church and maybe a message to go with it. Whether it be from a devotion I read throughout the week, or a SS lesson- or even a sermon- something fitting to go with the steeple. That means I would have to find 52 churches throughout the year so yea okay maybe it will become a monthly post- we shall see...... I am famous for great ideas and then totally bomb at actually following through on them so hold me accountable. OK? xoxo Chi Anne
