We had a much needed low key long weekend. The house finally got cleaned-the grass finally was cut and we finally got back to Sunday School and worship service.
Thursday night we had a late night- me blogging and then I was beckoned to come outside -I had to have my camera at hand. To my surprise, Bert and Carley were riding the scooter and bicycles around the garage- they showed me their secret handshakes, secret hugs and well they kept telling secret after secret. Carley decided to climb on top of my car for some midnight (well it wasn't actually that late) photo's. I don't recommend clean child on top of dirty car as it was dangerous but I couldn't resist the photo opportunity. (weak)
We listened to "Let's Stay Together" danced it out in the garage and called it a night. I love these lazy, unscripted no where to go - nothing to do nights they really make for the best memories ever!I am too excited to tell you what I made for lunch on Friday- they were DE-licious!! I love to lurk The Big Red Kitchen http://www.bigredkitchen.com/ (the blog is also noted on the right hand side) and she posted a wonderful recipe in June for White Castle Sliders....yum. It was easy and oh so delicious. My only alteration was I added Lawery's Season Salt to the hamburger meat and once I prepared- I added a heap of mayonaise (duke) to the "Slider" they turned out perfect- so I was tempted to take a picture..... see above
We swam and shot fireworks Friday and Saturday night with the Bonnett's and even joined them at the river for the 4th of July celebration (lots of food!!) and good times- Cel-e-brate!!I did manage to get one picture of Kylee and Carley in their festive red, white and blue bathing beauties..... see above (cheeze!!)
Sunday -have you ever missed a week or two of church and once you get back in to the loop of the inside of your safe and secure church walls you feel an ever presence of peace? Well, that was me. The holiday traffic on the interstate could have been going one hundred miles an hour, the phones could have been ringing off a 1.800 number hook somewhere, the lines at the grocery store or Wal-Mart could have been ridiculous, the boats on the lake could have been gearing up for their one last day, but in my world - I was not rushed, not aggrevated, not impatient, not even over thinking the days to come, not over paranoid, I was at perfect peace. I was overjoyed to see the smiling faces, to get back in to my SS class, to bow in prayer, to sing patriotic songs as a congregation, and to hear the much needed message. I felt cleansed, renewed and recharged for the days to come.
Sunday afternoon, we had some play time with the puppy whose name has changed for the 36th time and I think now and forever more will be known as Marley.. We were able to catch a snap of Marley in Carley's play house (see above)- maybe we should have named her Barbie? oh, let's not suggest that to you know who because you know what?? she might want to change her name AGAIN!!
PS. we will just have to live with the pictures coming in the order they choose and me not being able to relocate them to where I have intended because well let's face it- I have no idea how to make that happen.
