We have added a new addition to our family.
At one time it was just the three of us that traveled
and now we have added another member......
Meet our new baby, she's a cub- I suppose we shall call her Martha-
if you are confused Martha is the new name of our new but used camper-
I like the story in the Bible (Luke 10:38-42) where Jesus has come to dinner with Martha and her sister Mary and Martha is doing all the work cooking and cleaning while Mary sits at the feet of Jesus. Then Martha complains that Mary is not helping- Jesus replies to Martha that she worries about things that are not important and that Mary has chosen to do what is important- worship the Lord.
Lil cub camper- 'Martha' has to travel the long roads, then set up to sleep us, bathe us, and feed us and if it wanted to complain- it couldn't. And hopefully, I didn't hurt her feeling too terribly bad this past weekend.
The tent camping trip sparked the heart of my husband, BW, to
find the best possible deal on a used camper- the purchase led to an impromptu
road trip. He grew up camping- and has passed the love affair on to Carley.
Martha and I are trying to become acquainted. She is a cutie pa-tootie but needs TLC.
Table Rock has hiking trails for beginners, intermediate and advanced.
Needless to say we took the beginners trail- the sights are always amazing- but if you know me then you know what myself was saying to my self- "watch for snakes, watch for bears, did you read the sign? beware- what was that noise? why are there no other hikers on this trail? if we turned in a card with all of our names on it and the time of departure and we do not return- will the ranger come looking for us? oh my... waterfall- pretty can we turn around now?"
Admiring God's beauty was purifying and peaceful.
Carley was our nature trail leader- she found the waterfalls, creeks, wild flowers and huge acorns.
We ended with a trip to the playground. Swings have to be one of the best things to take you back to your youthful days- the world is still and silent all the while swinging with your feet out- head tilted way back to see all the sky has to offer- even the best view of TABLE ROCK.
Dear Martha our first trip was a learning experience. I promise my heart will soften as time goes by. The memories you have to offer our family are priceless. Dear BW- your giddiness makes me giggle when it comes to camping- I love to see you smile. Dear Carley- you love to roast marshmallows- I like mine burnt and you cook them just-right!!! And oh how I love the pink flamingo lights that you bought just for me- they look great hanging on Martha.

You are a real pioneer woman, Chi Anne Walling. Wagons ho, boy are there still a lot of places to go!
ReplyDeleteWe love U3 forever and ever... Oh, yes Martha, Welcome to the family!
