It's Ribs Y'all

I made the most delicious dinner last night and I am quite proud...quite proud I say. Ribs!!. I know my mother in law is shaking her head saying but you don't eat ribs?!? I do now ma'maw! The menu consisted of ribs, rib rice, rutabagas, baby lima's and rolls...... the letter of the day is apparently R so just roll with it.

Recipe:
Rack o ribs
rinsed and lathered in secret seasoning: Lawry's seasoning salt
Onions sliced
Boil ribs with onion, 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper for 1.5 to 2 hours
Then throw them on the grill for an hour basting them with your rib juice as you turn them.
We like em without the messy sauce. Line up any of your favorite bbq sauces for dipping.
Easy enough right?

Rib Rice
reserve 2 cups of rib juice (that would be the water you boiled the ribs in- you knew that right?)
add salt and a dash of olive oil
bring water to a boil
add 1 cup of rice bring to boil
simmer for 15 minutes remove from heat for 5 minutes then fluff and serve

Rutabaga's
mmmm mmmm mmmm.
These were a hit last night!!
One rutabaga will serve a family of four.
I won't lie they are hard to dice up, but I cut them in cubes.
Guess what I cooked them in?!?
Rib juice. That's right!!
I boiled those babies up for an hour or so while the ribs were on the grill.
They were delish!
Please tell me you know what rutabagas are?!?
If in the grocery aisle they are almost always next to the turnips just to try to test your vegetable knowledge.
What are you cooking tonight?!?
Im always looking for new ideas.
