Another weekend for the books...

We enjoyed yet another great weekend at the beach. Thanks Bonnett's for the invite as always!!
We arrived just in time for the sunset and found a gazillion baby crabs on the beach- of course Carley had no fear to hold them and let them tickle her hands. Friday, we woke up to rain but enjoyed a great breakfast- you guessed it, SeaCow again. The girls did some much needed shopping while the guys kept all the kids. Yeay for daddy's!! Guess who Carley got to spend the weekend with- her very favorite person on Earth- Ayden!! The Westbury's allowed us to venture off with them in the boat to search for Botany Bay. I don't think they really realized they had a freakazoid on board- ME!! For an overparanoid, overthinking person I think I did do really good- they may disagree. I didn't even begin to have a knot in my chest (at first). We went out in the boat on the marsh side?? Which I was completely paranoid of spotting a Crocodile- my least favorite earthly creature.... For the record, let's just say I WAS scared, very very afraid!!!! But I did do good- only in the beginning though... We saw ALOT of dolphin which was completely amazing - they were so close to the boat. They made lots of noise and would jump and splash out of the water-some even came on the shore to "scratch their backs"- these creatures I DO adore- as did the kids.. We saw lots of oyster beds and loads of crab holes. The crabs were funny because they would keep one of their main claws out and each seemed to be on q to wave them all at the same. We came upon two wrecked shrimp boats which completely creeped me out- I think this is when anxiety really hit. We were under some storm clouds and I kept asking- do you think its going to rain? - do you see those clouds?- do you think we should turn around?- PLEASE!!??!! NOTE: I bet my BFF- Jennifer is laughing right now thinking yep she hasn't changed a bit.
I have to say the Westbury's were VERY patient with me- thanks ya'll!! And, I also have to say that I have the most patient and gracious unconditional loving husband !! We ended up taking the boat back (shewwww!!) and driving to Botany Bay. I had no idea that at the beach there was this place with 4300 acres of wildlife. We had to take a walking hike that only revealed God's beauty- and the path finally opened to this miraculous beach. There was the ocean of course but this beach seemed to have a presence of perfect peace- I have to admit that if it were not for friends like the Westbury's we (I) would never do anything "adventurous." Thanks again!!
When exiting the beach, they have a bucket for all shells you have retrieved and a sign that says, leave the seashells and the footprints and take the memories....
Memories we have in deed- and of course pictures to reaffirm the visit!! We always do enjoy our stay at the beach, especially with life long friends, Bonnett's, Westbury's and the Edmond's. Sunday came all too soon for us and it was time to clean and pack but we had a last minute decision to stay just a little bit longer. Bert, Carley and I went to eat at the Pavillian or the Parcade as Carley called it (because as you can guess they have an arcade.) We put on our swim suits and headed to the beach for the rest of the afternoon. Carley met a friend named Joanna that she swam with for the rest of the day. We found some more shells to add to our collection and called it a day at about 4.30. We made a screaching halt for a photo op at a unique church on the Island that has a Prayer Chapel- exactly where we needed to be on Sunday and then, Hi ho Hi ho off to home we go. Home sweet home.
Luckily, I had Monday off to chilax- but of course we found some errands to run :)
Let's see if I can get some pictures to post of the great american crab hunt, the dolphin excursion, the sunken shrimp boats, and the prayer chapel....
xoxo,
Chi
