I know I promised some first grade pictures- I have had them on the camera and I am cleaning up my memory stick so I thought I would share a few pictures from the first day of school.
The school fairy came of course some time in the night and brought school goodies to get us all excited!!
Then came the special request 1st day of school breakfast order of chocolate chip waffles... yum!
We lucked up with a wonderful teacher and even a few of the same friends from last year in her class and new friendships have even been made- we are four weeks in to school and these kids are getting smarter by the day.
Homework is no joke- we have 15 spelling words that she has to write twice every night- to prepare for the spelling test on Friday. She has a math sheet. Word Wall Words to know and recognize and has to write sentences with the words and illustrate them every night. Not to mention a few short stories to read in her reading book- and did I mention it was only 1st grade?!? Sheww... good news is she is keeping up and retaining a LOT of information- bad news is (so I hear) it only gets worse...... so far we are settled in to 1st grade- if you ask what her favorite subject is in school the answer is ..... RECESS!!
