One Week Crammed Into One Night

I have so much I want to share that I don't know where to start?!?
Superbowl- we do not plan around the Superbowl because Husband and I
could care less about football unless it's SEC
He had to finish up online classes all weekend which left little details for Superbowl
I had a few apples on hand-cream cheese-caramel dip-and heath bar bits to whip up a little snack for the night. This recipe is borrowed from a secret blog admirer.....
I thought it would be cute to shape in the size of a football- why do I tell you this now?
Well because if you have a Valentine's Day event or dinner you can create your own in the shape of a heart and it will be raved over.
4 Apples Sliced (Granny Smith and Pink Lady)
1 block Cream Cheese smoooshed and shaped on bottom layer
Drizzled with Marzetti Old Fashion Caramel Dip
Sprinkled with Heath bar bits
On to stolen recipe number 2
Cranberry Hootycreeks- click to hop over to recipe
My BFF Jennifer who I refer to as SuperMom was telling me about
this recipe that tickled my taste buds so I decided to give it a whirl.
Wait-maybe I should tell you why I call her SuperMom since this is an Information Overload series- She has twins and a soon to be 2 year old which totals three kids if you were counting. Every day on my ride home she almost always answers her phone- she is cooking supper and I always ask what on the menu-because guess what she plans the meals for the week. She is a stay at home mom and every time I talk to her in the mornings I feel most fortunate to have a place called work to escape to- I don't think I could manage three kids 3 and under-
She bakes them homemade cookies, birthday cakes, has arts and craft time with them, goes to the gym and works out EVERY week - she can pack three kids up in a heart beat and hit the grocery store and even when we were in the hospital for a few days.... she packed them up drove 2 hours all to bring me lunch and for a short 30 minute chat-so in my mind she IS SuperMom and my super hero!!!
She made the cookie jars to give as teacher gifts at Christmas-
Why am I sharing this with you now? Well, because if you need a Valentines Day Teacher gift these cookies could win their sweet little hearts over.... just sayin....
The Mix
The Outcome
They have been taste tested and approved by our household. Click on the name of the cookie for a link over to the recipe but I will tease you with things like Cranberry's, White Chocolate Chips and Pecans....yum!!! I decided to try the recipe for a men's retreat Husband has this weekend- will let you know their reviews if I can find out who the Cookie Monsters are....
Husband came home last night and saw them all on the counter- they appear intriguingly healthy which wards most cookie monsters away- Husband for instance. This morning I left extras in the kitchen and he was desperately hungry for breakfast- the cranberry hootycreek (I love to say their names) tempted him... His response: WHOA THESE THINGS ARE REALLY GOOD. Darn!! I was hoping to eat them all on my way in to work- he saved me two!!!
So thanks SuperMom for sharing this recipe!!! *****Five Star Review from the Walling Crew
Note to reader: This is not me- this Is my precious friend, Trisha.
I helped with a baby shower and I absolutely cant believe that there is a baby in her belly. And one that is due the same day Carley was born. We spent all of our free time together in high school. We were joined at the hip- I have no idea how we even became so close because she went to a private school and I went to public but somehow someway we were together every weekend!! I cant wait for her to become a mother- and I cant wait to hold her baby boy!!!
Cheesecake Bites
Now wouldn't you be impressed if I made these? I have the slightest clue how to make them or even how to tell you what is in them but I can show you how to hide them so all the guests won't eat them!! I ordered them for the baby shower from a friend of mine who I think is also a secret blog reader....Hello Mrs. S- if you are reading.... She makes the most divine food!! If you become a member of our church- which we will be happy to recruit you- and you become in need of a meal and this Southern Belle Sweetness brings you dinner then you would wonder why you even bother to cook because your meals would be chop liver compared to hers- and you may even become in need of meals just so she would bring you one- Note to reader I am not advising that you are not a good cook I am only disclosing self comparison.
And if you find that you are more like me and less like Supermom meaning you don't have time or effort or self confidence to bake a birthday cake then I bet you would want me to introduce you to her,Mrs. S-
Bear diaper cake added for awwwwwwwww factor-
and no I didn't make that either- which leads me to my next post........stay tuned!!
