I recently finished another book to check off of the summer reading list:

have a little faith by Mitch Albom

We also had a family movie night and watched Soul Surfer

so it is fair to say that after the book and the movie I put on my Super girl cape,

and was bound and determined to conquer the world one person at a time starting with me.

I have had a self deserving attitude lately which does not imitate my maker. God's greatest commandment is to love thy neighbor as you love yourself. Isn't it amazing that God already knows the depths of our self seeking hearts?!? The law of the Bible does not say love thy neighbors as they love you- because that would put expectations on them and expectations set us up for complete failure.

The book, have a little faith, is a true story about a glorious man named Albert Lewis, a rabbi, a man of Jewish faith who impacted the lives of his congregation for sixty years, a man of great heavenly wisdom... intertwined with the life of Mr. Lewis, the reader is introduced to a man who was forgiven by God for his past, a man who dedicated his future to serving others in the name of the Lord, a Christian man... Henry Covington. These men were true examples of God's grace- this book speaks volumes to the one act that man kind could use more of....love.

If we practiced loving others as we loved ourselves congress could work as one, the hand of God could reach across each border, every nation and whisper we are created in Him, by Him and for Him. The world was changed for the better by these two men who impacted their communities and spoke volumes to generations all on the breath of these four letters....l.o.v.e.

Soul Surfer sent a tidal wave into our living room and touched our very own battle wounds of this life. This is a remarkable story of a girl named Bethany Hamilton, who did not let a shark attack stop her from reaching her life long goal of becoming a professional surfer. She lost her arm in the attack but never did she loose focus knowing that God would use her story to echo into the hearts of others, our hearts included.

If you are in need of a new perspective I can guarantee that once you read have a little faith or watch Soul Surfer your cup will runneth over with faith, hope and love.
